Summer in Campiglio
As we all know, Madonna di Campiglio is one of the favorite destinations for skiers during the winter, not only because of the famous 3tre track of the Canalone Miramonti where one of the World Cup ski races takes place, but also and above all for the complex of slopes that offer ski lovers a wide choice.
And in summer?
Don't be fooled, Madonna di Campiglio is beautiful in summer as it is in winter; instead of snowy mountains, you can admire the splendid landscapes of Trentino under a completely different light. Campiglio transforms from the capital of snow into a magical place of relaxation.
The activities offered are numerous and suitable for people of all ages, from tranquil walks like the Giro di Campiglio and the Cascate di Vallesinella, to slightly more challenging hikes like the tour of the 5 Lakes. You can reach the enchanting high-altitude refuges via marked trails; these are trips and excursions that tourists can do alone or together with Alpine Guides. For climbing enthusiasts, there are numerous via ferratas of various difficulty levels.
One piece of advice is to get a DolomeetCard, for those who don't want to miss out on any comfort and want to enjoy all the activities that Trentino has to offer.
Summer activities in Madonna di Campiglio
As written in the introduction, Campiglio is brimming with summer attractions, places to visit, and experiences to try. Here's a brief summary of the activities offered for the summer season:
Lake Tour: We're not specifically referring to the Tour of the 5 Lakes, but to the lakes in and around Campiglio. The entire area surrounding Madonna di Campiglio and Val Rendena is rich in water and lakes of extraordinary beauty. One example is Lake delle Malghette, a picturesque lake surrounded by meadows and conifers, located at 1900 meters above sea level in the heart of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. Another stunning option is Lake Nero, situated at 2246 meters above sea level, offering a beautiful mirror effect reflecting the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Other famous lakes, reachable via walks of varying difficulty, include Lake Nambino, Lake Ritorto (connected by the famous path of the 5 lakes, which also reaches Lake Serodoli, Lake Gelato, and Lake Lambin).
Waterfalls: A few minutes from the town center, you'll have your first contact with the Brenta Dolomites environment. In Palù, you'll find the famous Vallesinella waterfalls, appreciated since 1890 by Her Majesty Princess Sissi. Heading towards Val Genova, you'll find the Nardis waterfalls, the Lares waterfalls, and the Matarot waterfalls.
Relaxing Walks and Strolls: In any season, Campiglio offers an endless choice of walks, with mountain huts and refuges as destinations. Starting from the village, you'll find yourself on well-marked trails in just a few minutes.
Via Ferratas: There are hundreds of opportunities for a mountain excursion on an equipped trail, and Campiglio's entire area is proud of it. Guides and escorts will help you choose the itinerary suitable for your level of preparation. The scattered refuges along the route will not fail to amaze with breathtaking views and local delicacies.
Mountain Biking: Despite seeming almost paradoxical, the possibilities for biking enthusiasts have multiplied over the years. Val Rendena is crossed by about 30 km of cycle paths, ranging from normal green and flat paths to more challenging rocky climbs, catering to everyone from experienced lovers to beginners.
Tennis: In Campiglio Park, at Laghetto, there are two tennis courts available to practice this beautiful sport.
Golf: The Golf Club Campo Carlo Magno is one of the oldest in Europe, located at 1650 meters above sea level amidst woods and consisting of 9 holes, with a breathtaking view of the Brenta Dolomites.
Fishing: You can indulge in this beautiful hobby in the small lake in the city park or in various watercourses, streams, rivers, and alpine lakes! Keep an eye on permits!
Near Campiglio, you'll also have the opportunity to try horseback riding and swimming in the Spiazzo Swimming Pool.
As you can see, there are plenty of activities to choose from - it's up to you to decide what you want to do!
